It's another 80's flashback. This time it's Patty Smyth and Scandal.Patty and the band (with only one original member, Keith Mack, along) were the music headliners for day two of the Decatur Celebration in Decatur, Illinois. Patty, married to tennis star John McEnroe, only plays a handful of shows a year. How many remember this video when MTV actually played videos? Here's my favorite Scandal song, not from Decatur, but from a few years earlier.
We had a nice chat as she arrived in the lobby of her hotel to leave for the show. She signed a couple of early Columbia Records promo shots for my collection and posed for the above photograph.
As she exited the hotel, she was met by this stretch Hummer limo. "I've never had a limo this big," she said with a laugh. "I have to get a photo of this."
